Want a boho chic wardrobe or want to go for some exciting look or do you feel bored of your daily styling? Try chic bohemian dresses that will be best for your this summer. The bohemian fashion style consists of loose, colorful clothing and has been known as boho chic, hippie style, and Aesthetic dress.
Do you want to put together a boho-chic wardrobe? Here are some essential fashion items for a bohemian wardrobe, as well as some outfit options. One of our all-time favorite styles is boho, but it can be difficult to carry off. Wouldn't it be fantastic if you had a quick reference guide to help you nail boho style?
This list includes the must-haves for a boho-chic style or the crucial things you need to optimize the adaptability of your wardrobe, even if you just consider yourself a "boho lite" or mildly whimsical dresser. It's simply a starting point; your wardrobe will, of course, change based on your unique style.
1. A Maxi or Midi Skirt
When it comes to creating chic boho ensembles, a fantastic maxi or midi skirt will be your go-to item. Because they are the simplest to put together ensembles from, the finest maxi skirts are basic, with minimum designs, and not too poofy.
- Wear a maxi skirt with a solid-colored crop top and a floppy sun hat for a fast and easy outdoor look.
- Wear a basic maxi skirt with a graphic tee or tank and a vest that can be worn in a variety of ways. Finish with a top knot and sandals.
- Wear it with a flannel or chambray button-down shirt. Finish the ensemble with a pair of canvas shoes and a bold lip color.
2. Ankle Boots in a Neutral Color
Cute ankle boots are a must-have for bohemian girls, and they come in a plethora of designs.
It's up to you whether you want a towering heel or not, but make sure it's not too high or narrow so your boots remain comfortable when attending concerts or going to class.
Here are a few of our favorite ankle boot looks:
- For an outfit that's perfect for class or a casual date, pair ankle boots with flare leg jeans, a loose-knit sweater, and a hippie headband.
- Dresses and skirts look great with ankle boots! When wearing maxi skirts, go for more fitting shoes, however, the shorter the skirt, the clunkier your shoes may be!
- The fringed ankle boots that have been all over Instagram have piqued our interest. With a split maxi skirt, an off-the-shoulder shirt, and a big stack of bangles, they would be perfect.
3. Chic Headwraps and Hairbands
We began by wearing thin hippie headbands, but have now progressed to more vibrant textile versions. Those of you brave enough to attempt a floral crown will get bonus points.
Here are a few creative ways to style them:
- Wrap headbands look fantastic across the forehead, but we love to wear them a few inches beyond our hairline, almost as a halo. If the elastic in your headwrap is too tight to comfortably wear over your forehead, this is an excellent method to wear it. Cloth styles look wonderful in this way as well!
- Hairbands are a terrific way to dress up a poor hair day ponytail and add some glitz.
- Before you put it on, add some structure to your hair. Instead of my natural pin-straight hair, these wraps appear best with curly, wavy, or textured hair. Before wearing, sprinkle with salt spray and twist or curl big parts.
4. A Versatile Maxi Dress
We like anything with a pattern or design, but lace trimming is also stunning. You don't want to go too simple. For added bonus points, look for geometric or nature-inspired patterns.
- For a stunning date night outfit, pair a patterned maxi with chunky jewelry and wedge heels.
- To make it more casual, pair it with a denim vest and a patterned maxi.
- To make the dress into a skirt, add a tattered sweater. Ankle boots complete the look.
5. Leather (or Faux Leather) Sandals
Leather shoes with a boho vibe are a lifesaver. They're ideal for any warm-weather event since they're light and breezy while yet looking smart and elegant.
- For optimal adaptability, look for designs that are simple to put on and take off. Nothing is more inconvenient than a pair of shoes that takes five minutes to put on and take off!
- Strappy lace-up sandals, on the other hand, are a serious statement piece, especially when paired with denim shorts and flowing, off-the-shoulder blouses.
- Birkenstocks are a bohemian classic because they are not only very comfy, but they also endure forever and improve with use.
6. Slouchy Knit Sweaters and Cardigans
Cardigans and sweaters are a wardrobe essential for any style but choose lacy-knit, fringed, and slouchy versions for a boho vibe.
These are versatile layering items that may be worn in the autumn, winter, and spring. Another amazing feature of this item is that you can get a nice variation of it at practically any of your favorite stores.
Here are some of our favorite ways to wear open-knit sweaters and cardigans:
- Wear a tank over an oversized crocheted sweater with a pair of bell-bottoms and a pair of high-heeled ankle boots for a quick and simple look. Wear it with a cross-body purse and a headwrap.
- For a layered style, throw a thick cardigan over a graphic shirt and a little skirt. Wear with sparkly tights, boots, and a hat with a broad brim.
- Wear an off-the-shoulder slouchy sweater with a beautiful bralette beneath. Then add torn wide-leg jeans, leather mules, and oversized sunglasses in true bohemian flair.
7. Crop tops and/or loose-fitting tanks
One of the first things that come to mind when we think of boho style is breezy, strappy, casual little shirts.
While pretty tiny crop tops are all the rage right now, if you like belly button coverage, soft, flowy cami tanks are a great option. The style is all about wearing something light and airy, like a blouse that might be at home on a beach someplace.
Embroidered shirts are also fantastic for this! Look for amusing originals in any antique or retro boutiques in your neighborhood.
- If you don't like flashy designs or embroidery, go for a plain white crop top or tank. You're ready to go with tattered denim cutoffs and a slouchy cardigan.
- With a pair of flared jeans, platform shoes, and earthy jewelry, these shirts will never go out of style.
- Combine your favorite small tees with a long skirt, a scarf, a pair of shoes, and a large pair of sunglasses.
- During the summer, these shirts beg to be coupled with layered gold jewelry and a (fake) tan.
8. Colorful, Eye-Catching Prints
Nothing beats the rich appeal of a bright, colorful printed garment for adding a free-spirited, international edge to your outfit.
This category includes a wide range of things and pricing ranges, so think about what you'll wear the most and how much you're prepared to spend before jumping in!
- For an easy summer style, pair a vividly patterned wrap maxi dress with a wide-brimmed hat, strappy shoes, and a couple of stacked necklaces.
- Printed kimono-style cover-ups are back in a big way, and I'm a big fan of the ones with unusual designs. Wear it with a beautiful little crop top and tattered mom jeans.
- Try a tie-dye maxi dress as a suggestion. The tie-dye pattern is really boho cool! Platform shoes and large sunglasses will complement your clothing well.
9. Layered, eclectic jewelry
The more unusual the piece of boho jewelry, the better. Also, don't be afraid to layer it!
Boho babes often wear gold-tone jewelry, but this isn't a hard and fast rule; if silver is your thing, go for it.
- Another wonderful statement accessory that effortlessly adds elegance to otherwise boring clothing is a layered necklace. To make this very simple — and tangle-free — look for pieces that come with numerous layered necklaces all linked.
- Beaded bracelets in gold and other hues will never go out of style and will add a lot to a basic cutoffs-and-sweater outfit. In fact, pile them up and wear them with anything.
