Hidden Storage Ideas For Your Home

Whether you're trying to maximize the space in a tiny space or want to keep your items hidden from visitors, there's a high chance you could use some more storage. Bulky storage solutions, on the other hand, may clutter a space, so many homeowners resort to extensive remodels or pricey installations to keep their possessions concealed.

While such enhancements may be effective, we feel you can get the same impact with just a few minor adjustments. Follow these seven hidden storage ideas to make the most of your home's hidden places.

1. Keep remote controls hidden in a storage side table

Remote controllers, coasters, and other ugly trinkets might detract from the aesthetics of your side table. However, we still need to be able to access them when we're in the living room. Wouldn't it be good to have certain items hidden (but yet accessible)?

Ashley from Sugar and Cloth was able to design a table that achieves just that with only a few simple components. This chic end table is basic enough to appeal to a minimalist while also providing storage.

2. Store Extra Clothes Beneath the Bed

There are several options for storing stuff under a bed. The simplest method to do this is to set your bed on risers and utilize totes or other sliding storage solutions. Clothing, shoes, and other things that won't fit in your closet may be stored here.

3. Use Wooden Blocks to Store Toys

Kids' rooms and play spaces are constantly cluttered with stuffed animals, board games, Legos, and other little objects. If you don't have a lot of room, you'll have to choose between toy storage and more furniture.

What if we told you that you could design a system that could handle both tasks? You can make storage containers that serve as chairs out of plywood, hinges, felt bars, and decorations. Make as many as you need and customize them to fit the decor of your area.

4. Use a hidden armoire to conceal an office

You know how tough it is to keep your laptop, files, desk supplies, and other work stuff organized if you don't have an office (or even room for a desk) at home. Create a secret office out of a converted armoire instead of settling for improvised workspaces.

Begin by painting your armoire to fit the aesthetic of the rest of your space. Then, on the interior, add a pegboard for home goods, chalk paint for messages on doors, basket hooks, and a rolling shelf to accommodate your laptop. Close the doors and slip your fold-up chair in the gap between the armoire and the wall when it's not in use.

5. Construct a Closet Below the Stairs

Looking for spare space in your house is the easiest approach to uncover hidden storage. The space under the stairs is an area that is often underutilized in houses. You have the option of using temporary storage solutions or totally transforming the space into a closet or mudroom.

6. Use a Book to Store Valuables Camouflage

Many of us like displaying our favorite books in our homes, but have you considered utilizing them to conceal personal items? You can make a secret book store with only a few components.

You'll need a paper mache box and a pair of book tabs to build the camouflage. Simply glue the book tabs to the lid of the box and trace around the outside border where the box is poking out with a pencil, then trim away the excess with a craft knife. The lid should then be glued to the front of the box (blocking the contents). After that, you can simply integrate it by placing genuine books on either side.

7. Construct a Spice Rack Next to Your Refrigerator

It might be difficult to figure out how to use empty space in an apartment if you don't have the funds to entirely rebuild. In terms of kitchen storage, look on both sides of your refrigerator. If the first isn't built-in, there'll probably be some room on either side. Build a tall shelf unit with wheels that can glide in and out of this area next. The shelf may be used as a pantry or spice rack.

8. Blend Your Garbage Can Ideas

Nobody likes looking at an unattractive trash can in their house. Plastic ones may make your area seem cheap, and even luxury selections might look out of place. Use concealed storage solutions instead of opting for a typical technique of rubbish storage.

You can make a DIY tilt-out cabinet from scratch and paint it to fit your décor with a few pieces of wood, hinges, and some basic tools and materials. You can then simply fit a trash can inside and decorate it with your preferred decorations.

9. Keep your keys hidden inside a picture frame

Consider this concealed storage option if you want to keep your doorway clean and clutter-free. To begin, hang a few little eyelet hooks on the wall. Next, look for a photo frame with a hollowed-out rear. Place hinges on the frame and hang them over the keys.

10. Place Toothbrushes Away From Sight

When it comes to keeping your family's toothbrushes organized, many people opt for the tried-and-true method of using a cup or holder on their vanity counter. While this method may be effective, it exposes your brushes. Use the inside of your cabinets to keep your toothbrushes clean, concealed, and conveniently accessible.

Simply cut PVC pipe to the length you want it, add an end cap to the bottom, and hang it from a door hook. A similar technique may be used to organize your kitchen clutter. Hang measuring cups and spoons, utensils, and shopping lists from the inside of your kitchen cabinet doors with Command Hooks.

These hidden storage ideas can be put into effect in order to save space and keep your house super clean.
